Guimaras, Philippines—The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) champions the globally celebrated sweetness of Guimaras mangoes—the Philippines’ first and currently only agricultural product with a Geographical Indication (GI)—as they take center stage at the upcoming International Food Exhibition (IFEX) Philippines in 2025.
Recognizing the immense potential of this unique fruit, the DTI, through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), will prominently feature both the prized fruit and the vibrant Manggahan Festival at this prestigious event.
Under the leadership of CITEM Executive Director Leah Ocampo, prime exhibit space has been secured for the Guimaras Mango Growers and Producers Cooperative. This strategic placement will provide a platform for local and international buyers to experience the unparalleled taste of authentic Guimaras mangoes at the IFEX Buyers’ Lounge.
Ensuring the fruit’s peak condition upon arrival, FAST Logistics will manage the complex logistics of procuring, transporting, handling, and selling two tons of these coveted mangoes throughout the exhibition. Their support extends to producing an engaging audio-visual presentation that will immerse attendees in the spirit of the Manggahan Festival.
Adding an interactive dimension to the showcase, the Provincial Government of Guimaras will bring the thrilling “FASTest Mango Slicing Contest” to the IFEX floor. Further enriching the cultural experience, Koko Mojo Mango Farm will sponsor a performance by five Guimaras dancers, offering a glimpse into the vibrant island’s heritage.
